Food Group: plans for 2026

The Food Group got together recently to decide what they wanted to do this year. Here is what they came up with:

  • following the success of the Food Group’s shared meals they will be holding 2 more this year one in May and one in the autumn
  • to support locally grown food they will work with the Growing 4 Life project to grow vegetables for the autumn shared meal
  • they are offering to run sessions for schools on where food comes from
  • to carry on looking after their new orchard at Bridge Street allotments
  • to learn about saving seeds for next year’s vegetables
  • to hold another session in the autumn on preserving food – this time for HEAT members
  • and to keep good links with Suffolk-wide food partnerships as part of changing the wider system
